Visit Oia. But NOT for the sunset! or else be prepared for crazy traffic, pushy tourists, and packed out restaurants. Unfortunately, because the Oia sunset is so iconic, the little town becomes a tourist trap each evening from about 5 pm onwards. Why not go at sunrise instead? Honestly, it's just as beautiful, maybe even more....
Step down to Ammoudi below Oia to eat fresh fish after a cliff-dive in the deep blue waters of the Caldera at the St. Nikolas rock. Avoid Sunset time for the same reasons avoiding Oia....
